Vertigo & Balance
What is Vertigo & Balance?
Vertigo and balance disorders arise from dysfunction in the inner ear (vestibular system). Dr. Dhar provides targeted assessment to identify the underlying cause — BPPV, Meniere's disease, vestibular neuritis — and prescribe appropriate treatment.
Common Symptoms & Indications
- Spinning sensation (vertigo)
- Unsteadiness or loss of balance
- Nausea or vomiting triggered by head movement
- Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)
- Hearing fluctuation with dizziness
Dr. Dhar's Approach
Detailed vestibular history and physical examination including Dix-Hallpike and head impulse tests. Canalith repositioning manoeuvres (Epley) for BPPV; pharmacotherapy and vestibular rehabilitation for other causes.
What to Expect
Most BPPV cases resolve in 1–3 sessions. Other conditions require a tailored management plan with regular follow-up.
